A classic
This is a classic inexpensive game that should be in any house where kids live or visit. This and a couple other games have been enjoyed by my nieces and nephews when they visit and helps prevent any possible boredom if, like me, you are a proponent of leaving the tv off.

A favorite classic toy
My kids had a version of this toy, and I bought it for my grandson. He is now 19 months old, and has had it for more than 6 months, yet he plays with it often. I think it has helped with his coordination and reasoning skills. I try to keep the tv off when he is over, and this is one of the toys i depend on to keep his interest.

Nice buy for little kid around age 1+
I bought this for my daughter and she loved it at the first time she saw. The colors are bright and attractive. The shapes are just right for them to hold on their hands. This is more educative than other small toys such as cars or dolls.

Knex Value Tub 400 pieces12 reviews

K'NEX

K'NEX, 2006

If your child is a builder, this is perfect for him/her!
Our son was building all sorts of creations with Legos, but this KNex set has allowed him to build to a whole new level. He now can make things rotate, and flip, and transform! This is a great set for a child 5 and up. Our son plays for hours in his room with this and doesn't get bored.

Fisher-Price Rainforest Giraffe Stacker6 reviews

Fisher-Price

Fisher-Price

I Love The Rainforest Creatures
I bought this for my 4 month old. She would rather try to eat the hard giraffe instead of the soft rings. She knows what she has to do with the rings but can't quite get the grasp of it yet. I would definitely suggest buying this toy. It's really cute and educational.

Melissa & Doug Deluxe 10-Piece Alphabet Nesting and Stacking Blocks39 reviews

Love these!
I got these as a gift for my son when he was nearly 1 year old. They are great b/c they are small when stacked, so you can take them with you. They seem plenty sturdy to me, I havent had one bust yet! I'd reccomend this for 12 months-3 years, but I'm sure older kids would enjoy them too. Its just so much fun to stack them up and knock them down!

Melissa and Doug, 2006

I love this toy!
I purchased this for my 6 month old. Hes a little young so I keep the smaller blocks and the base away from him to keep from injury. But its great to watch him grab each piece from the stack and try to put it back.

Sassy LeapFrog Baby Curious Crab Rattle40 reviews

Sassy

Sassy, 2007

Best for baby punishing
I love this rattle. The very creepy design of the crab is great for frightening my baby when she acts up, also the words on the toy make for added confusion on account of the fact that my baby can't read.

Mega Bloks Smart Build Piano1 review

Megabloks

Megabloks, 2008

fun and educational
This toy combines all the fun parts about being a kid - building, making music, knocking it down and starting over again! It is great for creativity and also motor skills. My neice likes to change the instruments to create different sounds. Overall this is a lot of toy for the price and the as an added bonus it works with the other blocks she already has from mega.

LEGO, 2007

Battle packs rule!
My 7 year old son loves his Legos star wars kits. He's got a bunch and the battle packs mate well for scenario play with them. Legos has been promoting the battle packs in the Legos club magazine so the odds your your kid already knows about the battle packs and wants them. No matter what Star Wars Legos kits s/he has this will augment it. The Battle Packs are worthwhile as stand alone ...

Choo-ricfic!!!
Love it, love it, love it. I bought this for my son's second birthday. His eyes lit and and he played with it 1/2 hour straight. I finally had to take it away for bedtime. First thing in the morning he was asking for his train. My 4.5 yr daughter loves playing with it too. He can't put the train back together perfectly yet, but much better than I expected. Great learning tool, great puzzle, ...

Snap Circuits PRO SC-50024 reviews

Elenco Electronics Inc

Elenco Electronics Inc, 2006

It's all he wants to do!
I bought this as a 7th birthday gift for my son, who is the kind of kid who wants to know how everything works. It comes with the plastic board to build circuits on, many, many circuit pieces, and three books of projects. It's been almost a month, and he is using this, and I'm not exaggerating, 3 or more hours per day -- first thing in the morning, after school, before bed... he just loves it. ...

Lamaze Balancing Bug Stacker12 reviews

Learning Curve

Learning Curve, 2007

Great toy!
Not only are these adorable... but my 16 month old daughter loves them! She is so proud of herself when she stacks them up - the magnets really help make it "easier" to stack them. This encourages her to continue to work on this new skill. Regular blocks topple over much easier (especially on carpet) and she loses interest quickly.

Imagability Wedgits To Go 35 Piece Set

Imagability

Imagability, 2006

one of the best toys I've ever bought
We have a 10 year old and a 2 year old. They both love Wedgits! They come w/ building cards that provide a challenging construction design; so our ten year old stays busy with the same toy our 2 year old plays w/ on a more basic level.(He builds pyramids everyday.)They can also be used to teach the concept of following directions and help w/attentiveness. I'll build a small model and them watch my ...

LEGO Droids Battle Pack 765412 reviews

LEGO

LEGO, 2007

Fun,Cheap, and easy to build!!
I bought like 500 of these because the price was so low and that it was the first set with Battle Droids in it for years. I sort of got bored building it because after abou the 4th I could memorize the instructions from my head. But I was annoyed when they had to hold there blasters sideways because I got the big MTT set and the droids had strait arms. Also the set does play pretty fun and it's ...

Bored with blocks? Get Krinkles!
This bristle blocks come in their own durable case (very convenient for storage) What I liked about this package is that in addition to the different shapes, it came with wheels, farm animals, and people (Mom, Dad, little girl, little boy). Originaly I bought this because I was tired of blocks. I needed an alternative! (Yes I do play with my kids' toys because I play with my kids!!!) With my ...

Commemorative Edition Tin12 reviews

K'NEX

K'NEX, 2006

Great classic toy!
My children have been wanting a large set of Lincoln Logs for a couple of years, so I got the tin this last Christmas. They play with it all year long and have a great time building and playing together. This is a great toy for the imagination. They love to use their Little Pet Shop animals inside for make-believe play.
