A warm-hearted classic
anyone who gives this movie less than 5 stars has to be checked for a pulse! This is a well made, warm hearted classic. A "feel good" movie of triumph...once upon a time, when movies made you feel good about life... WHEN is this going to be put on DVD?!? When you see the VHS price so high, you realize how rare and great this film is!

Hilarious
Ever since I saw this movie as a kid I enjoyed the humor in it. My wife bought it for me again and I watched it for the first time in years recently and still to this day the humor is there. Dean Martin, and his indian companion, along with the commanche indians especially the chief's son makes the movie completely hilarious with the antics that occur. Great movie to purchase and see if you like ...

One of my top ten all time favorite movies
This is one of those movies that I never tire of...I can't even count the times I've seen it. The first time I saw it, I felt a rush of emotions. The first one was embarassment @ the way Marilyn over-enunciated her words in it, but I understand that was @ the prompting of her acting coach. I was much younger then & a huge Marilyn fan, nonetheless. The song she sang to Tommy Rettig "Down In ...

1940's Revealed
Want some insight into what titillated movie-goers in the post-war 1940's? This 1947 RKO production is a good place to start. There's the marquee value of a seductively handsome Cary Grant coupled with that spunky symbol of all-American innocence Shirley Temple, enough at the time to draw in ticket-buying throngs with its naughty innuendo of daring departure and forbidden pleasure. In fact, the ...

Charming Masterpiece
George Stevens rarely disappoints but this film plays several games simultaneously and succeeds right across the board. Frederic Hollander wrote the musical score and he summed things up beautifully with the opening credits. There were dead serious moments, then a romantic theme and thus followed the film. The serious parts were filmed in shadow and low-key lighting anticipating no idea at ...

A night you will never forget...
My favorite film of 1955, one of my favorite films of the 50's and honestly, one of my favorite films ever made; `The Night of the Hunter' is an astonishing film that truly didn't get the love it deserved upon its release. Thankfully it has reached `masterpiece' status today and is revered as one of the best thrillers ever filmed; a film that has really yet to be rivaled no matter how many have ...

KATIE FOR CONGRESS - an Honest Politician and a Great Movie
In an election year when most voters are wondering which candidate is the least dishonest, which is the lesser evil, The Farmer's Daughter is not only refreshing but instructive. It contrasts a political "machine" with a lone, honest voice crying in the political wilderness. Katie is that voice. She is the attractive housemaid of a powerful but amiable family, called the Morleys, who have been ...

This sequel is better
Buck Privates was very good but i think you will find this movie even better because its faster paced, good action, plenty of funny moments, and i believe it has better direction. I highly recommend this one. This is another Abbott and Costello film well worth watching. Not all of thier films are great but this one is so just enjoy it.

Very good film with Alan Ladd as the head of his O.S.S. team dropped into Germany. Each one the team members do there part and each one pays dearly. The ending is a shocking twist! Buy This Film!

Takes me back to my childhood!
This is a classic movie that I don't think got enough attention in it's time. It focuses on Jackie Gleason who is a railroad supervisor and he has one little problem...he drinks like a fish and ends up spending loads of money on crap that he nor his family need. It does have a good ending and his issues are worked out. I am not sure how the message is received by most folks but I have always ...

Warlock=Tombstone Check Oakley Hall's Warlock
Warlock is not only a masterpiece western, it is a fantastic creation of an even greater masterpiece of the novelist's art: Oakley Hall's Warlock, called by Thomas Pynchon the greatest American novel. It is certainly a candidate. Warlock is a supurb mythologizing of Tombstone circa. 1881. The novel, as is usually the case, is about three times as big as the movie, and the encapsulation of that ...

Hard hitting film noir drama with outstanding performances!
I'm honored to be the first reviewer for this wonderful film! I would elaborate more in my review, but I don't want to disclose any of the glorious plot twists and spoil it for you. First, how can one go wrong with any film that features Robert Young, Rita Johnson, Susan Hayward, & Jane Greer? One simply can't! This incredible cast will quickly pull you into the web of deceit that Robert Young ...

Beautifully colorized and restored!
After watching a cheap unrestored copy of this movie, (under the title "The Great Rupert"), I wanted a good copy of it. The color is wonderful. It doesn't have the greyish midtones common in colorized movies. This is Jimmy Durante's only starring role in a picture. Terry Moore and Tom Drake costar. Great plot. It also features a wonderful commentary with Terry Moore.

The Old Guard sets slowly into the Sunset
THE IMPOSSIBLE YEARS is an interesting look at being a parent and a teenager in the late 1960s. On one hand you have David Niven playing a psychiatrist who is unable to understand the behavior of his oldest teenage daughter played by Cristina Ferrare. On the other hand you have Ferrare as a seemingly carefree adolescent starting out as the misunderstood teenage grub and in the final analysis ...

KARLOFF THE ICON!!!!!
Fantastic set of some of Karloff's Columbia films. Great prints and great films. Sony has been very negligent in getting out Columbia's older films of the 30's and 40's. They have some other Peter Lorre films and many mysteries that should be made available, especially in sets.

1950s Western Fun
This is very loosely adapted from The Taming Of The Screw, but only the characters and a two line plot summary survive. Apart from that, it's quite an original piece of writing from Adele Huffington (surely a pseudoym!), Flaming Readhead Rhonda Fleming looks great in Cine Color, and makes us laugh too. A good-looking guy in a white(ish) hat, former Wild Bill Hickock star Guy Madison slips easily ...

Wholesome and a pure sense of humor. Light-hearted fun.
As you may know by now after seeing the first film of the series "Blondie", the films are wholesome and have a pure sense of humor. This second film "Blondie Meets The Boss" is just as funny as the first. If the Blondie films seem to be serious at times, please take it in light-hearted fun. Everything works out. Dagwood wears the apron this time. You might recognize the boy who plays "Alvin ...
