This is a great movie. My daughter saw it on TV and fell in love with it just as I did a long time ago. I bought it for her for Christmas. She loves the meaning behind the story and Tim Allen is funny as always.

Harvest of Fire
Since I grew up in an area heavily influenced by the Amish way of life, I have first hand knowledge of the authenticity of this movie. However, authentic as it may be, it is also very entertaining as some real truths of life are revealed from both sides of the cultural differences. I think it was a movie with no agenda other than truth. It is a must see for anyone serious about finding ...

Another Fun Chick Flick
This movie is fun for mothers and daughters to watch and laugh. Good slumber party movie for teens. Good movie for baby boomers--lots of good old days to laugh at and to see Rosie O'Donnell, Melanie Griffith, Demi Moore, and Rita Wilson in this movie from the "olden" days is fun. I had never heard of it until recently when I bought it, and was pleasantly surprised. Good coming of age ...

I enjoyed this movie
I enjoyed this movie. William Petersen is awesome in this movie. If you are a fan of his then you will enjoy this movie. As with most movies that is based on a novel, The story differs from it but it is still enjoyable to watch. If you are looking for a deep movie or one that you need to think about, then this movie is not for you. This is what I would call a non thinking romance type movie. You ...

The best sports movie I've seen
Sure you have movies like the Natural and the Field of Dreams, but Cobb is one of those movies you will remember for a lifetime! It doesn't touch your heart like The Sandlot but Cobb is a movie to remember. I urge everyone to watch this movie, even if your not a baseball fan. Just remember one thing: "Ty Cobb is Baseball!"

A Hollywood genius and his heart rending last days.
What a sad movie this was. Ians performance brought the pain and injustice done to a man who who was once Hollywoods greatest directors now a recluse, to the forefront. I never knew James Whale was Gay for many years till I read it mentioned in an article. It didnt matter. When this movie came out, my favorite actor Brendan Frasier, was in it so it was a must see. How sad to know that this ...

When is this EXCELLENT movie going to be released on DVD?
This movie is to me Andrei Konchalovsky at his very best. One of the darkest periods of the Russian history told through the eyes of the innocent Ivan Sanshin. Communist Joseph Stalin purportedly killed millions of fellow Russians through famines, executions, deportations, and in the Gulag, most of them for political reasons. No opposition was allowed whatsoever, and Russia experienced the ...

Everyone knows the plot synopsis already so this is just my opinion. I bought this DVD after catching part of the movie on TV. I was totally engrossed in the story of Vincent's lust for Olivia and betrayal of Sally. I especially enjoyed the ending where the two women meet at the hospital, each thinking she has won her man, neither knowing the truth. Lolita Davidovich was absolutely charming. This ...

A Truly SWEET Family Film!
NO SEX, NO VIOLENCE, NO DIRTY WORDS! Bobby, visiting his Grandmother for the summer (in beautiful Nova Scotia) is the new kid on the block. And he is being picked on by the local kids, until he is "adopted" by Jo, a girl his age who has a different view of life. She is obsessed with the desire to find a mate for a lone bull moose stranded on a small island. The friendship that develops between ...

Thoroughly enjoyable!
This movie teaches a lot about how hateful prejudice and stereotypes can be (in this case, antisemitism). It is a movie about how a little boy learns that what he thought was so was completely wrong. It shows how a friendship can blossom between two people of diverse cultures who are also very far apart in age...and how they can learn from each other to the mutual benefit of not only both of ...

NEGOTIATING THRILLS
DEAD SILENCE is based on Jeffery Deavers' excellent "A Maiden's Grave," and as is in most instances, the book is better than the movie. But to screenwriter Donald Stewart's credit, his script maintains much of Deavers' plotting and nuances to be a credible adaptation. A busload of deaf mute students is held hostage by a notorious bankrobber, played with effective and cold mania by the underrated ...

Beyond The Veil of Truth
There is something here in this movie beyond the veil of truth that the media never spoke of during the actual witch-hunting of the 1980s. I grew up in the aftermath of these California trials and it was with much angst that I met with families affected by them. Indictment looks at the era from the point of view of the real "victims," which are the McMartins. If you speak with any of the ...

Both disc and movie were great!
The disc was in perfect condition. It aid it was new, and it truly was. The movie is a great story about a little town Mystery, Alaska. It's primarily about hockey, but even a non-hockey fan will easily enjoy this. My girlfriend doesn't even know who the NY Rangers are and she liked this movie a lot. I highly recommend this purchase.

My favorite boxing movie of all time
Wow, can't believe so many people did not like this movie. I absolutely love it. This is what I watch the night before I have a fight (I compete in kickboxing). I think the characters have alot of depth to them and the fight at the end of the movie is really well choreographed. This is a 5 star movie in my book and always recommend it to my friends.

Deceptive, Deranged, Demented, DePalma!!
This is a psychological thriller that couldn't have came at a better time than it did, but unfornately it almost got ignored at the theaters. What a travesty! All that was coming out in those days were mindless, generic thrillers like "Sleeping With Julia Roberts", "The Hand That Rocks Rebecca De Mornay", and/or "Single White Stupid Movie". I still remember telling a friend right after seeing ...

AN ADULT MOVIE WITHOUT CRASHES AND GUNS!!!
I was pleasantly surprised by this not well-known gem. Couldn't sleep so I began watching on cable about 2:AM and couldn't turn it off. Was totally enrapt by this story of two pretensious and carefree snobs who don't have enough sense to secure a valuable sculpture by Henry Moore. She (Andie) needed to be reminded at every turn that assets and money were her entire world, so the statue was left ...

"They're right, I'm GUILTY!!"
This is a really fun movie, full of memorable lines [like the one above], great production design and cool location photography. Newman's performance is wonderful, and Miss Davidovich is the stuff that dreams are made of, especially if you're a guy who likes buxom redheads ["If I could walk like that," says Newman/Uncle Earl, "I'd walk everywhere I went"]. Several scenes are filmed at the LA ...
