Peter Pan (Fully Restored 45th Anniversary Limited Edition) (Walt Disney Masterpiece Collection)238 reviews
Bobby Driscoll, Kathryn Beaumont

Walt Disney Home Video, 1998

Peter Pan- Platinum Edition
A classic in every sense of the word. My kids both love it, and watch it at least twice a week. I love how well they did cleaning the film up and making it like new again. A must have for any Disney video collection.

The Legend of Sleepy Hollow18 reviews
Jeff Goldblum, Dick Butkus

Starmaker Entertainment, 1992

The Best live-action version!!!
This movie made me fell in love with Jeff Goldblum!!! I wish it was on DVD. Other then the Disney version (which is too short) this is the best. I don't like scarey movies and this version is a good family one also.

So glad to have this in my collection!
When my grandson, age 8, said he had never seen the Lion King I galloped to the computer the first chance I got and ordered it! I knew Amazon would come through, and it did! Now we have the two-disc special edition to enjoy over and over. It's always a pleasure to use Amazon. com...haven't been disappointed yet.

Christian the Lion5 reviews
George Adamson, Terence Adamson

Hollywood Select Video, 1994

Absolutely beautiful true story of human-animal relationship
This is a documentary, filmed around 1970, the true and undoctored story of another lion that Born Free's George Adamson returned to life in the wild. The backstory is that Christian was separated from his parents at an early age and put up for sale in a London department store. Christian's parents were zoo lions, the father came from the Rotterdam zoo and the mother from Jerusalem, and they ...

Howard the Duck157 reviews
Lea Thompson, Jeffrey Jones

Universal Pictures, 1994

One of my favorite movies ever. Can't wait for the DVD!
Howard the Duck must be one of the best movies I ever saw while I was growing up. When I found out how horrible the movie did box-office wise, I thought, Okay, what went wrong? The movie takes home 4 razzies including worst picture of 1986 and George Lucas disowns the picture afterwards. Pixar Animation was founded because of this movie. That should account for something (check out IMDB.com for ...

Aladdin (A Walt Disney Classic)240 reviews
Scott Weinger, Robin Williams

Walt Disney Home Video, 1993

Great family film
Aladdin is among the Disney greats. A good, clean, yet exciting story for the younger audience and still plenty of hilarious references for the adults. The Platinum Edition has great picture and sound quality to match the magical soundtrack. I highly recommend it for people of all ages!

Robin Hood (A Walt Disney Masterpiece)160 reviews
Brian Bedford, Phil Harris

Walt Disney Home Video, 1993

Listen to Peter Ustinov!
My kids and I find the movie very entertaining and charming -- 3-year-old Martin wants this movie and only this movie no matter the myriad alternatives we offer. I remember growing up with the soundtrack playing all the time on LP, so I have a fond place in my heart for it. But, having seen it more time than I care to count, I still cannot get enough of Peter Ustinov's voice ...

The Jungle Book241 reviews
Phil Harris, Sebastian Cabot

Walt Disney Video, 1997

Great film for kids and grown-ups, too
Having called a month-long time out on princess stuff, I ordered this hoping but not really believing it would replace Little Mermaid or Cinderella in my daughter's mind. But she loves it. She doesn't get to watch the whole thing often but I occasionally just cue up the songs and let her watch, sing along and dance to those. Definitely a solid choice for any home dvd collection.

Last of the Dogmen107 reviews
Tom Berenger, Barbara Hershey

Hbo Home Video, 1996

Beautiful, Touching Film That Is Too Often Misunderstood
This review is based upon the VHS version, as the DVD version needs to be re-released so all can afford to enjoy the movie in the wide-screen format. As a former professor of Native American Studies, I have been asked numerous questions about this thought provoking, well photographed (although I wish they would actually film movies about Montana, in Montana), and touchingly portrayed movie. ...

Pt 1098 reviews
Cliff Robertson, Ty Hardin

Warner Home Video, 1992

PT 109
Great movie! I wish I could get a copy to play it on my DVD player, instead of having to dig out and hook up my old VCR when ever I want to watch it.

Bedknobs & Broomsticks122 reviews
Angela Lansbury, David Tomlinson

Walt Disney Home Video, 1998

Old memories
I remember when I was a little kid moving from Germany to the States. I loved this movie very much. I grew up watching this movie all the time. I just recently started searching for all the old movies that I grew up on and this is the first one I looked up. I want my kids to be able to see all the movies that I got to watch when I grew up. Even at 30 years old and having been in the army for ...

Siege of Firebase Gloria59 reviews
Wings Hauser, R. Lee Ermey

Fries Home Video, 1990

Actual Vietnam War Account by a retired Marine Sergeant Major.
This movie, that stars R. Lee Ermey (Full Metal Jacket, Saving Silverman), and Wings Hauser, is my favorite war movie of all time. Period. I am a war veteran and I can tell you this much--This movie is war at it's most realistic perspective... ...This movie starts off pretty graphic, in a liquidated village with no signs of life. The director shows you how all of the main characters each ...

The Pirates of Penzance115 reviews
Kevin Kline, Angela Lansbury

MCA Universal, 1992

Avoid confusion with this title
There is a lot of confusion in the reviews of this movie, and the reason is simple, there are 2 films with he same name and almost the same cast. There is a version which is the film of the broadway stage show, which I have not seen, but lots of people who have say its pretty horrible (the film and sound, not the actual broadway production which most people think was excellent). Then there is ...

Phantom Tollbooth33 reviews
Butch Patrick, Mel Blanc

MGM (Warner), 1992

They need to make this movie on DVD
I was so happy to find this movie but the price was outrageous. I got it for my sisters birthday because her and this movie go way back. I guess it was worth the amount of money just because in my family it is a classic. They really need to make this movie on a DVD though because they last longer. This movie is so funny and just amazing. If you haven't seen it then I would suggest you rent it ...

Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM), 1992

The Wizard has it All.
"There's no place like home." Dorothy and her friends seek the answer to their desires in a land of dreams and nightmares. Brilliant use of color and sepia. Classic songs, incredible performances and special effects that still hold up today. One of my ten best.
