great for all ages
My 2 year-old and I have watched this together at least 100 times, and we love it. I'm a pilot; he loves airplanes. As a former coxswain on the US Rowing Team, I was struck how much the emphasis on teamwork and the training routines had in common with the rowing community. Watching this video made me want to give it to friends training for the 2000 Olympics, it reminds me so much of them. ...

8 year old kids's review of Sarah, Plain and Tall
The story of Sarah, Plain and Tall by Patricia MacLaclan is a pioneer fiction about a family who needs a mother and a wife, and a lady who needs a home. It is sad, funny, happy, scary, exciting, and keeps me guessing. Jacob Witting needs a helpful, hardworking wife and a mother for his young children Anna and Caleb. He puts an ad for a wife in the newspaper. He receives a response from ...

STARTING TO WORRY
I have used this series for a few years now and have had great success with it. Not just the old school compilation of talking heads, but an engaging, well-paced documentary. However, as others have said, I am getting concerned about its availability in the future when VHS players go the way of the 8-track. Anyone out there know of plans to put this on DVD?

to feeler, Jesus couldn't be listed #1: he was not on earth during the last millennium. to stinky: get some education, and try again when you know what's what. THIS is an outstanding film, and I use it to teach modern history, even as I disagree with much of it. It's great at boiling things down to their essences...

It's an endurance test; a contest of wills.
To the uninitiated, HANDS ON A HARDBODY may vaguely sound like it's a porn film or perhaps a film about a "fluffer" or someone involved in oiling up muscles in a body building contest. To those more familiar with vehicles, a "hardbody" is the term for a Nissan pickup truck. The "hands" fit into S. R. Bindler's documentary courtesy of the 1994 "Hands on a Hardbody" competition. This annual ...

Elvis on Tour - the best
I ageee to the fact that this records so much of what Elvis really was and still is. And even though we could not help but to see his beautiful stage clothes and how great he wears them, and at times his sadness, a more focus on his voice should be considered instead. This is a great dvd and a must not only for Elvis fans but for anybody that likes good singing and music, all along he ...

DVD!!!!!!!! Hurry Up movie studios!!!!
One of the best martial arts movies of all time!!!!! The only problem with Jeff 's martial arts ability is that he is so fast that some of his movements are lost even when going frame by frame on a VHS tape. I'm really curious to see if that would be any better on a DVD. Get with it, movie studios! They are a lot of great movies on tape that should be on DVD.

Mountain Trek
A long time ago, an older man covered his tattooed body with a grass cape and put on insulated footwear to trek through the Alps. The RETURN OF THE ICEMAN did not take place until some 5,300 years later when he was found by hikers. The Nova team covers carbon dating and CAT scanning, deciding whether Austria or Italy had the stronger claim to keeping the mummy, and preserving the artifacts and ...

An awesome video tribute for an awesome team!
I've seen this video from a friend that's why I decided to order a copy from you. This is truly an excellent commemorative for the greatest team ever assembled in team sports. Up to now, I really can't believe that Mike, Magic and Larry played for one team.I recommend this video to everyone who loves basketball.

I have seen this film numerous times. I have bought it as a gift for many friends. I have played it in my college classrooms. This is a timely piece that I think will continue to have universal appeal for many years to come. The film maker uses non-verbal communication adeptly, effectively, poignantly. This is one of those films that should be owned by many and played once a year, for a ...

The Best
This was my favorite of the (I believe?) three Prefontaine movies out there. "Without Limits" and "Prefontaine" are both good Hollywood/drame type movies, and while all three stay true to Pre's story, "Fire on the Track" is much more moving. It tells the story documentary-style with real footage and interviews with those who knew Pre best, tied together with strong narration and driven ultimately ...

A Cure for Curiosity
I recently found a bootleg of this documentary, and right away I was drawn into it. This really shows us (rather than telling us) what the hardcore punk scene was like in L.A. in the late '70s- early '80s. We get to see live performances of The Germs, FEAR, Catholic Discipline, X, Alice Bag Band, Circle Jerks, and Black Flag. In addition, we see shots of the crowd, which is pretty cool. The parts ...

For the love of horses, Carry on Please
I saw the vidio some time ago ( 4 years?) and was totaly impressed. As a young girl some 45 years ago I used to be very involved with horses and used a lot of Mont Roberts techniques although I never new it at the time. Many people commented on how horses trusted me and I could get them to do things that other people couln't. I just thought that they liked me and felt comfortable around me ...

Now THIS is a Beatles documentary!!
I LOVE this documentary! It was one of the first that I ever watched about The Beatles and it remains a treasure of my small VHS/DVD collection. Credit was given where it was due and the influential were given a prominent role here (as it should be). There were interviews from Allan Williams (the boys' first manager), George Martin (who crafted and refined their sound for the masses), the ...

The Farm: Life Inside Angola Prison.
This film is free of Hollywood glamour, and you love it for just that reason. It's a great documentary, and definitely worth the price. About 15 minutes into the film you get that weird sensation in your throat, and have trouble swallowing. Everything becomes clear, from now on you'll be a preacher boy just to keep clear of Angola, and anything that could resemble it.

The Power of Myth: A Spiritual Touchstone for Millions
In 1986, journalist Bill Moyers sat down with mythologist Joseph Campbell for a series of interviews taped at George Lucas' Skywalker Ranch. The sessions, which aired on PBS in '88 (see Bill Moyers Remembers Joseph Campbell), introduced Campbell's transcendental wisdom to a wide audience for the first time. Joseph Campbell And The Power Of Myth became a bestseller in both book and video form. ...

DVD is excellent. Elvis performing and interacting with the audience is a lot of fun to watch. Also, it's interesting to watch the process as he and the band/backup singers prepare for the Vegas show. Highly recommend.
