100% Guatemala
The basis of the movie was taken from a secondary character in Francisco Goldman's book "The Long Night of White Chickens", which is about Guatemala during the civil war, also the cover photo is the work of a Guatemalan photographer, Palma. Excellent movie.

"GREAT GUNS "
The classic comedy team of Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy in their first film for 20th Century Fox is by no means as bad as its reputation. The 1941 wartime film has some very corny moments and lines of dialogue from the supporting cast, but that's to be expected. Stan and Ollie are reliable as ever in their roles as bumbling army recruits and perform the material written for them by Lou Breslow ...

This is THE video to see...It will make a GnR fan out of ya!
November Rain is what Guns N' Roses will be forever known for, despite their many other creative hits and chart-topping songs. This video gives you insight to what The Band is trying to get across by this song. The documentary crew catches every minute detail possible. You see The Band playing around between sets, mouthing off to each other, describing their feelings towards the song...you ...

All action, as was the original, but more so...
I liked the original version of Top Gun, but in Blu-ray it's stunning. The sound track is just great - just make sure the neighbors are out before you play it, because the temptation to turn up the volume when those jet take off is overwhelming. Typical Tom Cruise movie - but great fun, and excellent in High Def format. A great addition to your Blu-Ray collection if you liked the original.

The making of Estranged
I was able to locate 1 copy of video IV in the trilogy. I must say that though I purchased this video over seas and had to have it transfered to DVD so that I could watch the video (the entire lot came out to about $110) I would do it agian. Without this video, there is no understanding the band, the songs, the albums or, and for me most importantly, Axl. With his description of what this song ...

Builds on the foundation of Tuchman's literary masterpiece.
The Guns of August takes its title, its pace and its studious approach to the events of the First World War from Barbara Tuchman's extraordinary book. The film cannot provide the detail or the masterful objectivity of the book, and wisely makes no attempt to be a visual clone. Although both start well before the beginning of hostilities, the printed version draws to a close at the end of ...

A Good James Bond Movie
THE MAN WITH THE GOLDEN GUN is a good James Bond movie. I like it because it is a lot of fun. In a world of so much stress it is good to sit down and relax and watch an uplifting movie like this. We all know who James Bond is or we just know what he's all about. This movie plays off the James Bond mystique and just has a good time with it. The result is very enjoyable.

Very moving and emotional movie
This is one of my favorite movies of all time. It's about a young American soldier named Johnny who gets hit by a shell on the last day of the First World War. Johnny lies in a hospital bed, a quadruple amputee who has lost his eyes, ears, mouth and nose. His only means of communication is by banging his head against his pillow. As the movie progresses you get inside Johnny's head by means of a ...

Don Knotts turns up a Bad Penny in the Old West
The Shakiest Gun in the West is yet another classic Don Knotts comedy from the late 1960s. This time around, Knotts plays a newly certified dentist who decides to spread oral hygiene throughout the wild, wild West; after all, Philadelphia is already covered up with dentists - there are at least seven already plying their trade there. Jesse Heywood is a little wiry guy, of course, and his ...

Among the greatest comedies of all time
The Naked Gun is without a doubt my favorite comedy. It's got it all: humor, romance, a ketchup and mustard fight. In my humble estimation, The Naked Gun along with This Is Spinal Tap is the greatest comedy of all time. Leslie Nielsen is superb as lieutenant Frank Dreben, the bird-brained cop and sometimes government-terrorist-organization infiltrator. Oh, and who could forget Ricardo ...

The Guns of Navarone (Collector's Edition)
ESSENTIAL MOVIE!!! One of the greatest war movies ever made stars Gregory Peck, David Niven & Anthony Quinn. The Germans have two HUGE guns on the island of Navarone in the Mediterranean. These guns are preventing the British from rescuing two thousand British soldiers who are stranded on another nearby island. The only way to knock out the guns is to send in a crack team of commandos. There's ...

This Gun is a Goodie
A very good film, and with very slightly better direction and a bit more depth to the bit parts it would have been up there with Casablanca among the great black and white films of the early '40s. As it is, it seems to have become almost forgotten. I'd never seen it before, and those who'd told me about it didn't seem wildly enthusiastic. Seeing it was therefore a very pleasant surprise. It zips ...

Sally Struthers at her finest!!!
Should be more than five stars!!!... While this movie did not receive wide acclaim, it struck me when as a 12-year old so many years ago how incredibly dramatic and versitile Sally Struthers was as an actress. Up to that point the only thing that I'd seen her in was "All In The Family" and then there was this movie; totally blew me away. I don't have a copy of it, yet, but I'm in search of one, ...
