This is the best performance of this story that I have ever seen. They got EVERYTHING right: acting, cinematography, music (awesome score from the Chieftans).... I remain completely mystified as to why this prodcution is not available on DVD!!!

I watched it on my LCD TV and thought the quality and sound was great. I haven't watched the extra features yet so can't comment on that.

Perhaps the best!
It is a shame that this film is out of print. Charlton Heston shines as Long John Silver and this movie made me a fan of Christian Bale, who plays Jim. Lots of action, more serious in tone than other adaptations, and superb acting all around. Hunt up a copy on VHS, or better yet--badger the studio for a DVD release!
